Style
I’m very clear that successful organisations have integrated and harmonious commercial strategies that are based on reality and driven by real vision.
So my work starts at executive level to critique, enhance or create practical people development strategies that are fully integrated with the commercial objectives and imperatives.
As part of the implementation of the strategy and to help drive step-change I deliver coaching and mentoring. I call my coaching style “cut-through coaching” – getting to the right questions faster and focusing relentlessly on results.
Consultancy
Prior to consulting (with Glendinning Management Consultants) I held a number of middle and senior management position in sales and marketing for Mars, Coca-Cola (the bottler) and Carlsberg. Hense my experience is around the development and implementation of topline growth strategies (category, segment, brand, channel and customer). It also involved development and implementation of enabling strategies such as organisation design, process engineering and training and development.
Today my focus is on creating or re-focusing HR strategies to engage them with commercial strategies to ensure that they continuously deliver real commercial traction as the are embraced, supported and driven by the whole commercial organisation.
Executive Coaching
The business coaching I provide is powerful and quick to achieve results because I am able to leverage my many years of commercial experience and the success I had breaking through barriers like “its never been done before” to deliver substantial business gains. This doesn’t mean leading the coachee, but it does mean cutting through to the questions that matter and cutting through any smoke and mirrors to the real issues and opportunities. And isn’t it fantastic to see someone as high as a kite because they are doing and achieving things they never thought possible?
