I follow the process, a process facilitator – coach – trainer – whatever, to get the job done. Most of the time an individual, group, or company, that realizes a need for change, actualy needs to do so in some ways. Just like driving a car, oncentrating too narrowly limits the peripheral vision and reduces situational awareness, readiness, and living capability for change.

Done well, blending some approaches forms accelerated learning, really holistic learning in both analytical and intuitive ways. Done well, people realize new patterns to follow, simplifying life and generating higher performance. My book “Your Living Myth” explores high performance patterns. I use Holistic Team Roles, eg in the book “The Team Leader” to grow teams.

My background is diverse, from forest engineering roads, bridges, airfields, with the associated project management, to owning-operating a software company, to coaching-consulting with diverse individuals and businesses. More often ESL people in the past few years.

Right now I’m in China ‘trying to teach dinosaurs to fly’ and gradually growing my cultural awareness into cultural intelligence.

Style

I’m literally a process worker, a way of thinking that follows the overall process while watching the details. I naturally cycle from close focus to integrated overview and back.

I’m an autodidact, a extremely fast readers, so I can glom onto subject matter fast and use it.

One result is that I’m creative, I find new patterns to follow (this matches the humour pattern in the human brain – so I’m humourous too)

I’m not a good perfector, even though I successfully wrote software for years.

Consultancy

I don’t isolate services. I help people explore their situation then we do something about it. This often involves bringing in other people and other services. Which really means that I often help with the overall relationship for the project even when I’m not technically adept in the area.

Executive Coaching

I peer coach, often trying to help change in more than one way at a time. Often people want to change something, but other things are holding them back. It’s good to be able to cycle over to the ‘other things’ and not just grind away at the ‘important thing’.

I much prefer live coaching, and it’s best while walking. Walking through a park, a factory, or whatever.

Facilitation

My facilitation process evolved from project management with cranky contractors, from software development and support across the internet, and from various kinds of multicultural work. It’s half subconscious, half ad hoc, and half service leader oriented – perhaps it’s better to say that I use metaskills and follow the group process.

Training

I prefer to make training real. Like on the job training. I use my ebooks as a foundation and use other materials as necessary. I read fast so I teach fast reading. Process amounts to systems thinking so I teach that.
